The Reproductive Challenged Woman #2

My guest is one of many women who successfully adopted from the same facilitating agency that I used, A Labor of Love Adoptions, who is also my founding premium sponsor. I had gotten an e-mail from Tina Tyra of A Labor of Love Adoptions, telling me an unbelievable story about a woman who had faced more challenges than I could ever imagine any one human being facing.

When I first spoke with her on the phone, I was in tears at the end of our conversation. Tears of joy, but also tears of compassion, for no one should ever have to jump the myriad hurdles that this woman did.

Her name is Kristy, and though she endured much sadness throughout her journey, her story has an incredibly happy ending! I thank her for being on my show, and I thank her for effecting me so deeply.

Kristy is the example I will look to whenever I feel overwhelmed. For if I think of her, and remember her strength, it will inspire me to get back on my feet and move forward, as she had done…with grace and courage. She is a sweetheart, and a pure joy to talk with. I am honored to have gotten to know her.

A friend on my journey to motherhood - Show #1

My guest on this show is Sue, a dear friend that was instrumental in my becoming a mom. It is a perfect choice to have her as my very first guest, for it was her friendship that got me through some of my roughest moments with my fertility issues. Since we had gone through the same invasive procedures at the same exact times, we became our own little “Club of 2″. Sue was my ear when I needed to vent, and my shoulder when I needed to cry. It was through her that I found some sense of peace and some specks of humor on my way to motherhood. (Yes, it’s true. We even talked about forming a rock ‘n roll band together called The InVitros.)

Sue is now an amazing mom of a 3-year old and is pursuing a second child, once again, through adoption. I followed in her footsteps on this adoption road. She suggested the agency for me to get started with, and she gave me her support and guidance through the process. The profile I designed turned out better than I could ever have imagined. And Sue was there to give advice on that as well. (For those of you who may not know, a profile is the story of a family or couple hoping to adopt, through pictures and words, that birthmoms look at to choose their adoptive family.)

Every once in a great while we befriend another woman that turns into the sister we never had…a friend that is a true treasure… one that we go through the trenches with. And we know that whatever else may happen in each other’s lives, we will always be there for one another. That describes my friendship with Sue, and I am honored to have this incredible woman and mommy as my guest on the debuting show of The Reproductive Challenged Woman.
