Barbara Winters resides in Pennsylvania with her husband, Jeff, their two cats, Maxwell and Milo, and their newly adopted baby girl, little Hailey Rose. She is a voice-over and on-camera talent, a poet, a children’s author, a painter and a reproductive-challenged woman.

Barbara’s journey to motherhood began almost 10 years ago. When she decided to start a family, she encountered innumerable fertility issues. After facing many procedures and invasive surgeries, two invitros, trips to a specialist in NY and a surrogate attempt that failed, adoption was her final option. She now realizes that it was worth all the trials and tribulations, all of the pain, frustration and tears…for Hailey Rose is the angel she had been waiting for. Barbara’s heart is now filled, where once there was a void. She resonates with love, happiness and joy, and is no longer the childless ‘mommy’ she was before.

This is one of the most difficult scenarios a woman can face — one that challenges her idea of femininity and worth as a female. It even made Barbara question her role on this earth, her desire to continue living and the God that she so faithfully believed in. It was extremely important for her to talk to others while going through this torturous time. Unless you are speaking with someone who is walking the same path, they just aren’t going to understand. It is a heart-wrenching, deeply dark place, and it seems endless. That is why Barbara feels a calling to reach out to others who are going through the same pain, and share her story of wonderous hope, love and achievement. There are many miraculous and amazing roads to motherhood. Barbara understands more clearly now what it means when she hears that God works in mysterious ways.

She would love to hear any stories that you might like to share, helping women realize they are not alone…because all of us who are moms in our hearts need to realize that dream. It is a huge part of who we are. If it is not fulfilled, we are not fulfilled, and we walk this earth as only a part of who we are. But when we arrive, and we hear that little voice call us “mommy,” we know we are finally home.
