Journeys to Motherhood #22

Hello dear friends!  This is our 22nd show on Journeys To Motherhood!  Welcome!

You know that this show is one to encourage, uplift and hopefully inspire.  But there is a subject that we haven’t touched deeply upon prior to this show, and it is weighing heavy on my heart.  This is not brought up to bring any of your down, nor to dwell on another dark side of infertility, but it IS something that effects many women.  And a recent encounter prompted me to talk about this today.

Journey’s to Motherhood #21

Welcome to Show 21 of Journeys To Motherhood! SO much to share with you on this show!

…a wonderful event that I attended, of which I speak about (an adoption picnic that was just a thrill, seeing all of the parents in such states of happiness and joy with their little ones)

…some fascinating news about an herb I’ve just been informed of that has many amazing claims behind it (for our reproductive lives AND our sexual lives as well!)

…an article from one of the most prestigious women’s magazines regarding the environmental connection with infertility (as we had talked about on the last show)

…a bottled water that is actually GOOD for us and packaged in an actually SAFE, BIODEGRADABLE bottle that’s on the market  (you’d be surprised how important that is, and how it could effect the reproductive lives of us and our children!)

…and a newly incorporated poetic prayer list that I felt compelled to begin, as many of you are writing in asking for me to keep you in my prayers.

An Amazing Afternoon With Adoptive Families

I attended a picnic yesterday with my husband and baby girl that was sponsored by The Adoption Connection in Pittsburgh.  It was such a lovely event, and Tina Tyra (A Labor of Love Adoptions) was there.  It is always SO good to see her, and to see the loving families that have adopted their beautiful children.  If only you all could see how each and every one of these children actually LOOK like their adoptive moms and dads…you just wouldn’t believe it!  As you’ve probably heard before, it DOES appear that we get the babies that are meant for us!  Yes, every once in a while there might be an adoption that doesn’t work out, but that just means that wasn’t the baby for you.  The pain is beyond words when something like that happens, but when you look into the face of your baby, once you DO get to your baby, you’ll understand.  It’s something that can’t be explained…just felt.

I looked at all these couples yesterday, thought about how each one has their own story of infertility struggles, each one has their own darkness that they had to plow through, yet each one NOW has their own joy, their own little piece of Heaven.  And you could see it in all of the parents’ eyes.

We talk about the many avenues one can consider when struggling with this hellish thing called infertility, but whatever YOU are considering, don’t rule out adoption.  Even if you put it at the bottom of your list, it is absolutely one of the most rewarding opportunities we can take in this brief life.

Congratulations to all the families I met yesterday.  It was a pleasure and an honor to meet you.  And to Tina Tyra: the magic you are, and the miracles you bring, make all of us who know you, realize you are an angel sent to us…and we thank you.
